TutorSplash Learner Safety & Respect Guidelines

Welcome to TutorSplash! We're excited to have you as part of our learning community. Whether you’re here for help with school, to explore new topics, or to meet amazing tutors—you deserve to feel safe, respected, and supported. These rules help us make sure TutorSplash is a fun, secure place for everyone.

🧠 1. Learn Safely

  • Always join your classes from the TutorSplash platform. Never use Zoom or video links shared outside TutorSplash.
  • Your tutor will start the session using our built-in tools—video, whiteboard, and chat—so we can keep things safe and secure.
  • Never share personal information (like your full name, address, phone number, email, or social media).

πŸŽ₯ 2. Use Your Camera the Right Way

  • Tutors may ask you to briefly turn your camera on at the start of class to confirm who you are.
  • After check-in, it’s OK to turn your camera off—unless your tutor says otherwise in the class description.
  • If you're not comfortable with your camera on, let your parent or guardian know so they can talk to your tutor in advance.

πŸ”’ 3. Keep It Private

  • Don’t take screenshots, photos, or record any part of a session.
  • If you see someone recording or sharing class videos or private info, tell your parent/guardian or click the "Report” button.
  • Do not add, message, or follow other learners or tutors on social media.

🀝 4. Respect Others

  • Be kind and respectful—no teasing, bullying, name-calling, or using inappropriate language.
  • Wait your turn to speak, and avoid interrupting others.
  • Keep your chat and whiteboard use focused on learning.

🚫 5. What’s Not Allowed

  • No hate speech, threats, or hurtful jokes
  • No showing or discussing violence, weapons, or inappropriate content
  • No adult behavior, topics, or materials
  • No off-platform meetings, messaging, or gift-giving

Violating these rules can result in removal from the class or platform.

πŸ†˜ 6. If Something Feels Wrong

  • You can click the "Report” button anytime during a session.
  • You can also talk to a parent or guardian, and they can email support@tutorsplash.com to get help.
  • All reports are taken seriously and reviewed by our Safety Compliance Team.

πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦ 7. For Parents

  • Please supervise your child’s sessions whenever possible.
  • Encourage open conversations with your child about their online experience.
  • Read and accept our Terms of Use and Code of Conduct before beginning.
  • All tutors must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check and undergo identity and safety screening through Certn, a Canadian background verification service.
