Sharing Recorded Classes With Learners & Parent Policy

TutorSplash Recording Policy for Group and One-on-One Sessions

At TutorSplash, all live tutoring sessions—both group classes and one-on-one lessons—are automatically recorded for the safety of our learners, tutors, and the integrity of the platform. These recordings support quality assurance, session review, parental engagement, and safety monitoring, in alignment with our Session Safety & Monitoring Policy.

🔐 Where Are Recordings Stored?

  • All session recordings are securely stored on TutorSplash’s encrypted servers hosted in Canada.
  • Recordings are retained for a maximum of 3 months, after which they are permanently deleted unless required for legal, dispute, or platform integrity purposes.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Who Can Access Recordings?

  • Only enrolled learners and their verified parents or guardians can access session recordings, and only within the classroom interface of their registered TutorSplash account.
  • Tutors may choose to enable or disable access to recordings on a per-class basis, but access is never granted to users outside the enrolled group.
  • Tutors and users must not download, share, or distribute recordings externally, including through email or social media.
  • Recordings are not accessible via direct link; playback is available only through the classroom dashboard.

🧑‍🏫 Tutor Discretion & Parental Requests

  • Tutors are not obligated to provide recordings to learners or parents but are encouraged to do so if it supports the learner’s progress.
  • Instructors must share recordings publicly within the classroom interface if shared at all. Sharing privately with individual families is not permitted.

Note: In cases where recordings involve privacy concerns (e.g., visible addresses, names, or sensitive information), tutors may request the platform support team to review and possibly hide the video from view.

📩 Notifications & Availability

  • Tutors are notified when recordings are available for review—typically within 2 to 4 hours after the session concludes.
  • Recordings are attached to their corresponding classroom event (group or one-on-one).
  • If a tutor wishes to post a recorded demo or pre-recorded content, this must be uploaded via the "Add Video” button in the classroom dashboard and clearly labeled.

⚠️ Privacy & Misuse

  • Tutors may not download or store sessions on personal devices.
  • Recordings must never be sent to families via external tools (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, email).
  • Misuse of class recordings (e.g., off-platform sharing, unauthorized downloads) is a serious violation of the TutorSplash Terms of Use and may result in account suspension.
